Day 10: Sat 3 Sep - Iguazu Falls

Had quite a good sleep as I was quite tired. Had a little sleep in - had to catch up on the previous couple of days with early starts and late finishes.

The weather was not as kind to us today as it was yesterday - overcast and rainy all day. Had breakfast and waited to be picked up to do the Falls tour from the Argentinean side this time. We did three walks today. The first walk required a short train ride to the start of the trail which took us out to the Devils Throat - the main part of the Falls. That was about 2km return and was quite slippery as the walkway is metal and therefore very slippery in the rain.

It was then back onto the train to the start of the second walk which was the Upper Trail. This walk was basically on top of the Falls and was not very spectacular as all you saw was water flowing to the edge of the cliff. It was quite a long walk though and you were able to get a sense of the length of the Falls. We finished this walk by meeting at the restaurants. I was first to finish and decided to eat whilst waiting for the rest to finish.

After lunch it was time for the third walk: the Lower Trail which was by far the most spectacular. The walk took you "through" the Falls and it was a very wet walk. The touristy rain poncho purchased at the start of the day was of not much use on this walk, but we all enjoyed in immensely.

It was then back to the hotel to clean up before meeting for pre-dinner drinks and then dinner at the hotel's restaurant. It was a relatively early night.
