After a fairly good sleep and breakfast, we
caught the bus to the Bird Park situated on the outskirts of the town. This was
more of a refuge than a zoo, in that most of the birds in the park were rescue
birds. Some of them are unable to be returned to the wild due to injury,
however, those than can be are returned. The park also had a few animals that
were also rescued. Carmen, our guide, was very informative and it was clear she
had a great passion for her job. I showed her pictures of the kangaroos and rainbow
lorikeets at Hippo Farm and she said she wanted to come home with me!

After checking into the same hotel we met downstairs for another early dinner. As it was still raining we didn't want to venture too far so we went to the cafe/restaurant about 70m up the road. It was then back to the hotel to unpack, shower and sleep.
