Day 11: Sun 4 Sep - Igauzu Falls to Buenos Aires

After a fairly good sleep and breakfast, we caught the bus to the Bird Park situated on the outskirts of the town. This was more of a refuge than a zoo, in that most of the birds in the park were rescue birds. Some of them are unable to be returned to the wild due to injury, however, those than can be are returned. The park also had a few animals that were also rescued. Carmen, our guide, was very informative and it was clear she had a great passion for her job. I showed her pictures of the kangaroos and rainbow lorikeets at Hippo Farm and she said she wanted to come home with me!

It was then back to the hotel to pack up, have lunch, and wait for the shuttle to the airport for our flight back to BA. On arrival back in BA we had to wait for Trudi's luggage again, and then went in search of two taxis to take us back to the Reino del Plata. What we got was one taxi, normally for 4 pax at a push, but we managed to squeeze four of us in the middle seat, one in the front, and Trudi in the back with the luggage. Thank goodness we did not have an accident, or have a run in with the police, and we made it to the hotel in one piece, and all for the price of one taxi ride - 300 Pesos - about AUD30! Bargain!

After checking into the same hotel we met downstairs for another early dinner. As it was still raining we didn't want to venture too far so we went to the cafe/restaurant about 70m up the road. It was then back to the hotel to unpack, shower and sleep.
